For trips outside Paris, I would highly recommend Reims – for obvious reasons. Stay in the city or in nearby Epernay, which is also a must see town. I also adore Lyon … best meal in my life was experienced here.

It’s about what happened In Europe at the end of WW2. A truly eye opener of a book and I learned something new about the war on just about every page.

Hi Janet,

Thank you so much for this great suggestion! I have not been to Seattle so this would be a great option for exploring more of the US.

xo

In the Travel / Relax / Grace sections, may I suggest a roomette on the Amtrak Empire Builder. It runs from Chicago to Seattle, through the Wisconsin Dells, Glacier Park, and So.Much.More. The roomette not only gives a bunk to sleep in, but a comfortable recline-able chair in space all to yourself, includes all the meals in the Dining Car, and a simply unbeatable travel experience. There’s also time to read a book!

After many years of chaos, my goal has been "learn to focus". Around the house, finish decorating/renovating one room before starting on another. Last year, I got two bedrooms and one bathroom done. Start an exercise routine to get my waistline back. (I have NEVER been truly skinny, but after getting out of the Navy, I stopped caring for a bit.) Continue improving on my French. And professionally, I want to complete on certification for my current job (CyberSecurity) as well as begin setting into motion my retirement job – photography. Photos around Florida, travel photos, (US and Europe), and maybe senior portraits and family portraits. My husband and I came up with the idea of a photo series along highway 1 in the US – From Maine to Key West. The hidden gems, beautiful vistas and soon to be lost history of highway 1. So, short term and long term goals.
