One of my favorite posts to write after a trip to Paris is about the trends I spotted. This ranges from colors and silhouettes to denim, shoes, bags, and more. A rainy day in Paris is the perfect opportunity to sit at a café and see what Parisians are wearing. This is what I spotted on my latest trip to Paris in January 2026. Do you have any favorites?

Pop of Red. Colors Parisians Are Wearing Winter 2026

Nail colors were dark burgundy, classic red, or a pretty pink shade. I spotted the three in the salon window, and they were the perfect representation of what I’ve been seeing trending and what I have been using on rotation. Dark Burgundy was the color I saw most often, so I came home and painted my nails that shade, which I wore to the California event.

Hooded Scarf Trend Winter 2026

The hooded scarf trend is everywhere. My friends with kids say that their kids have really embraced it as well. I saw it worn and styled in different ways. While I wasn’t the biggest fan of the trend before I arrived in January. The trend of the hooded scarf grew on me quickly after I picked up my own after the Sézane event. I love it and have worn it multiple times in Paris and Chicago.

Parisian Scarf Trends Winter 2026

Triangle Scarf. This trend is everywhere, and I am not sure it is for me, but I picked up this one in red at Sézane to try. You can tie it around your neck or wear it as a layer over a jacket.

Chunky scarves. Typically worn on the outside with hair tucked in. The scarves are worn double-tied around the neck or thrown over the shoulder and can run longer. I spotted these in all colors and fun pops of red or neutrals.

Winter White. I was surprised to see this, but also loved it. Parisians mixed winter white with dark brown, camel, or black.

Burgundy Accessories. One woman had multiple burgundy accessories, from boots to her handbag. She styled everything so well!

Parisian Winter 2026 Trends

Tall Riding Boots. This is a trend I spotted last year and love. I am so happy I invested in a pair of tall black boots. They didn’t fit my suitcase this trip around, but I do wear these boots often at home.

Black Tights with Boots. What Parisians are Wearing Now

Classic Parisian style. When I saw my Paris family for dinner, the daughter looked adorable in her tights and skirt. When I asked her about her outfit, she told me she loved wearing tights and that they suited her so well. It has been fun to watch her grow up and develop her own style. She also had dark burgundy nails that I also admired and complimented over dinner.

Cuffed Wide Legged Jeans: What Parisians Are Wearing Now

At my Sézane event, the entire staff wore wide-legged jeans, belts, oversized sweaters, and cowboy boots. The look was so good! It made me want to order a pair of wide-legged jeans.

Long Coats Trends in Paris Winter 2026

Chocolate Brown: Winter Trends Spotted in Paris

I saw chocolate brown everywhere, from shoes, bags, to sweaters. This color is sticking around, and I love it! While Parisians are mostly known for wearing black, this was a nice change.

Leopard Accessories Spotted in Paris Winter 2026

It isn’t my favorite trend, personally, but one I often spotted in Paris.

Sézane Sizing Guide

Sézane is one of my favorite French brands to shop in Paris; the clothes are high quality and hold up over seasons, and the styles are fun and different from what you can buy in the US. I have loved the pieces I have collected over the years, purchased from Sézane. Sézane is a sustainable brand committed to supporting the community and various charities. This Sézane sizing guide is designed to help you navigate between US and French sizes.

Sézane Sizing Guide

Introduction to Sézane

Sézane is the go-to label for Parisian style. If you are looking for a brand that looks and feels more French, this is it. From stylish monthly collections to great basics, they keep in stock and carry year after year. Some of their bestsellers are basics, such as the Scott Trench coat and the Gaspard sweater.

Where to Find Sézane in Paris

You can purchase items online or in-store. Sézane now has a couple of locations in Paris, one in NYC, and one in London, if you can’t make it to Paris. Locations in LA, Boston, and Seattle if you are US-based and can’t make it to Paris. Fingers crossed for a Chicago location soon.

On any given day, a Sézane store will be filled with shoppers. During my recent trip to Paris last October, the lines were at least 50 people deep outside. We were fortunate to have a private shopping experience, allowing the girls to shop and try on items in the dressing room without waiting. Typically, the wait for dressing rooms is at least a few minutes. Plan accordingly if you will try items on during your shopping experience.

The newest Sézane location in Paris is in the Marais; although it may be smaller than other locations, it is worth visiting. It is ideally situated in the Marais, has helpful staff, and a good assortment of the men’s line Octobre and women’s clothing.

Sézane Sizing Essentials

Sizing for Sézane is essential because the French sizes typically run smaller than American sizing. You may want to size up in certain items. Sézane is excellent at providing sizing tips for each item. They will make recommendations on the product pages to help you find the right size. Refer to the size guide for each category to find the measurements and size that best fit you. For quick reference, I have typically worn my regular size 4 in dresses, small in sweaters and shirts, and size 8 in shoes. My measurements are 5’6″ and 135 lbs, and I run on the busty side, so I will size up for tops if needed.

Some items run small or large; I do my best to address this in the Sezane sizing guide below. French cuts differ from American cuts; items may be more cropped or baggier, which is something to consider. Look at how items are styled in the images to understand how they should fit, and whether you should size up or stick with your normal size.

Sézane releases new collections monthly.

Once you sign up for the Sézane email list, you will receive a notification about a lookbook for a new collection and its release date, typically on Sundays and Wednesdays. The French version will go live at 10 am, and the American version will go live at 10 am US time. If you are early, they reserve items for the second batch. My tip is to sign up before American sizes are released and snag items early. I scored some pieces before 10 am as an early riser. You can download the app, which will send push notifications for the collection preview and when it is ready for sale.

I highly recommend downloading the app for easy access to new collections. In the past, they would release a collection each month. They have since updated their releases and released more than one collection per month. Some sizes, styles, and colors can move quickly, so getting the app and push notifications is essential. You can preview a collection a few days in advance to see if anything catches your attention.

Each shopping cart will stay active for 30 minutes while you shop. Some collections are bigger hits than others. I am giving you a heads-up because items can go fast! You can always sign up for restock alerts, which are helpful if you have an eye on something. Great classics and fashion items are often restocked later in the season. Sézane Sizing Tips

One of the questions I get asked most often is about Sézane sizing and how it runs compared to US Sizing. The minimum order for Free Shipping from France is $200, so it is worth purchasing two items to qualify for the shipping discount. You can always return something if it doesn’t work out. If you are unsure about sizing, you can order two sizes and see what works best.

Sézane has also recently updated its sizing for US sizing, so you don’t have to worry as much about the EU sizing numbers. However, some styles run large, and others run small. This guide will break down each category more specifically.

How to Return Sézane Items

The return system at Sézane is straightforward and offers free returns. Anything that doesn’t work for me will be returned via prepaid shipping label in the original box. Once it returns to their warehouse, I will be credited. A few questions were asked about why it didn’t work with the fabric and fit, or whether I didn’t like it.

Sézane Sizing for the Gaspard Sweater

All About The Gaspard sweater.

The Gaspard cardigan sweater is among my most popular Sézane items and best sellers. They regularly restock it and add new colors. I have baby pink, blue, and black. It is light enough to wear over a cami or dress as a spring or fall transitional piece. One of the great things about this sweater is it can be worn in two ways. The sweater is sized for an oversized fit compared to other sweaters, but I still take my regular true size, small. You can always do a French tuck at the front of jeans if they feel a little long, or size down.

My Gaspard black sweater is a year-round wardrobe staple. Even in the summer, I drape it over a dress at night to keep warm.

I am 5’6″, and it fits well in size SMALL. It has not caused irritation or itching; it is soft. To wash your Sézane sweaters, you can use Woolite. You can also take your items to the dry cleaners. Wool sweaters will shrink if not washed properly.

Sézane Gaspard Sweater

Sizing for Sézane Coats

Two Sézane coats I love run large, so I have sized them down to a 2. This is important because they were hard to purchase on the website, and the camel color is now sold out. The Paolo comes in a beautiful plaid and also in cream. I love mine so much and am happy I ordered it.

Mederick coat sizing is the same, and you need to order a smaller size as this style runs big. It comes in various colors, but no navy this year. Camel, green, and cream look beautiful!

I have had the Johnson Coat for two years now, and I love it. In the coat, I am a size 36/4 US. For sizing, I could have probably gone up to a 38 with sweaters and scarves. It is a little tight because I am larger in the chest. If you are, too, you might want to size up.

Sézane Trench Coat Sizing

Sézane recently introduced the Clyde trench coat, an updated style different from the original Scott trench coat. The Clyde was an immediate hit and instantly sold out every time it was restocked. I grabbed it during the summer as an on-off opportunity to try it for the fall. The sizing does run big, and I am happy I did size down one. Since I already own the Scott Trench in the tan, I went for the dark khaki, my current color crush. I love the plaid detail inside; you can see more of it when you roll the sleeves.

Sézane Sizing Guide for Sweaters

My first Sézane purchase was a sweater, and the quality has held up extremely well over the years. It is what made me want to invest in the Sezane brand. I live in Chicago, and it is sweater season, a good part of the year, and I buy new sweaters to add to my collection.

Last year, Sézane launched the Betty cardigan. It quickly became one of their best-selling styles, and they added additional colors. I own it in a few, the style is cropped so you will want to style it with a higher waisted denim or bottom. Typically, I will style a tank or t-shirt underneath. You can leave it buttoned or unbuttoned for different styles.

Some of my favorite Sézane sweater styles are the striped ones. Two have sold out but are currently back in stock this season. I highly recommend grabbing one or both, depending on your budget. They are two different styles.

I love the Emile cardigan for a chunky knit and own it in grey. The color of the season is garnet, which I am sure will sell out quickly.

This is the category of Sézane I have the most of. Each year, I invest in a few classy pieces that I know will carry over for more than one season. I have chosen small in all my sweaters. The Gaspard runs the biggest, and the other sweaters are tailored a bit smaller and more of a French cut. I have a long torso, so there are some I wish I sized up.

Sézane Shoe Sizing

I have recently added Sézane shoes to my growing Sézane collection, and I am in love. I bought two pairs on my last trip to Paris because I couldn’t stop thinking about them. The espadrille is the classic French girl shoe, and I purchased it in black. You can easily wear these with dresses, jeans, or skirts. I typically wear an 8.5 in most shoes and an 8 in Sézane shoes.

I fell in love with these Katie Babies heels, but I had no intention of buying them. However, after trying them on in the store, I knew I needed to bring them home, and I ended up wearing them for a shoot with Katie. We walked for 3 miles around Paris, and I had no trouble without breaking them in, which says something. I wore them to lunch and later to dinner that week. Any excuse to wear them! I typically advise against wearing heels in Paris, but these work.

Should I size up or down in Sézane shoes?

In my experience, Sézane shoes run large. While I am usually an 8.5 in most brands, I am always an 8 in Sézane shoes.

The Albane loafers are so cute and comfortable. You can wear them with socks or no socks.

Sizing for Sézane Blazers

The blazer is a hot fashion trend that I expect to be around for a while. I loved my navy one so much that I returned to buy the camel one. Blazers are great layering pieces over sweaters or blouses. I take my normal 36 sizes. Classic blazer styles include the Christie, which I own in camel, and the Michele jacket in navy.

Jack Blazer Sézane Sizing

I love the Jack blazer by Sézane so much that I ordered it in both colors. It runs a bit oversized in size 6, and I love it this way. Pair with a blouse or sweater. You can drape it over your shoulders or roll up the sleeves to style it.

Sézane Sizing for Blouses

The Chloe blouse is a Sézane fall staple. I purchased it in the bottle green and love it for a date night out. My sister loved it so much, I sent it to her in the cream and now I want it too! This one runs true to size, and I own it in a small.

The one polka dot blouse from Sézane that I love also became my staple date top before the pandemic. It is easy, fun, and great with black boots or a skirt. I wear a Size 36, and it fits great.

Sézane Dresses

I have a few dresses from Sézane, all in size 4/6 (small). The shorter Sézane dresses can run small, and I am 5’6″, so keep that in mind if you are my height or taller. The Pippa short dress is a summer staple. I own it in two colors and wear it often. There is a longer version as well, called the Pippa.

Wearing the Gemini dress in black in size 6. This was a favorite for the summer, and I packed it for the South of France. Easy and light for hot days. I loved the belt feature for styling. Typically, their dresses for summer run tt,s and I am in a size 6.

I recently purchased the Vic dress after it sold out last year and bought it in size 36, and it’s perfect. Make sure to tie the arms before you put them on. It’s a bit tricky if you do it the other way around. This is what wore for my 40th birthday, and I know I will be wearing this dress on repeat for years to come.

Sézane Sizing for Skirts

The skirts at Sézane are excellent right now. I bought one in Paris in suede and got the same one in black. They are both fantastic, and I know I will wear them a bunch with boots this winter.

Sézane Sizing for Trousers and Denim

Below are the Martin Crop Trousers in size 38. I could have sized up one more.

For Sézane bottoms, including pants and skirts, I had to size up one size to a 38 from my usual 36, which is a 4 to a 6.

I recently added these Martin trousers and these adorable pants to my Sézane collection. Both are in a 6/38.

Sézane denim is one category I do not currently own. I have the wide-legged denim on order, and it is sized up to an 8. The denim styles I ordered have a high waist and a button fly, which aren’t my favorites. Brut sexy is one of the most popular styles and from my experience runs small so definitely size up. You may want to order two sizes to try them on side by side and return one pair.

Sézane Sizing For Belts

After wanting one for the past year, I recently added a Sézane belt to my collection. While in the store in Paris, I tried it on in person and wear a size 85. Typically, I am available on 4/27, if that helps. The 80 was too small for me.

Wearing the Émile belt below with a skirt. Belts are one of my favorite accessories for the upcoming fall season, and I cannot wait to wear them more. I highly recommend finding a favorite black and brown belt and buying it in both colors for wardrobe staples.

Does Sézane run sales?

Sézane does not run sales, but they do run the archives, which are at the end of each season. You can find reduced pricing on Sézane items. They have changed this to all sales are final, so it is important to know your size. You can see this helpful post on how to shop the Sézane archives here.

Sézane Package Delivery from Paris

One of my favorite aspects of ordering Sézane is the packaging. Henri knows when a Sézane package arrives, and we order frequently enough to know our FedEx delivery person. The items are packaged in the most beautiful tissue paper with their signature scent. My sister commented on how much she loved this smell from Sézane, and it was the first thing she noticed when she received her package.

As I mentioned, returns are free, so there is no need to worry. I recommend purchasing your favorite items in different sizes to see what works best. I learned the hard way: I had my eye on a coat, but it sold out quickly and wasn’t the right size. You can wait for restocks by adding your name to the list once you have an account on the Sézane website.

What to Wear in Paris When it Rains: Fall Edition

While Paris in the rain isn’t for everyone, it is to be expected at any time of year. I personally love rainy days in Paris and hope for at least one during a trip. There have been several times when I have had a week long of rain in the spring and fall. One of my most popular posts has been what to do in Paris when it rains. I thought it was about time I gave some guidance on what to wear in Paris when it rains. This is the fall edition. If this post is a hit, I will come back with some ideas for outfits in the spring.

You will want to check the weather forecast ahead of your trip. I have had many readers panic when they see rain in the forecast. Keep in mind, this could just be for an hour or an afternoon. Don’t let this ruin your visit. Plan ahead with a few key pieces for wet weather. Even on days where the weather has rained nonstop, you won’t see Parisians with rubber rain boots and a rain jacket. Kids often will wear rubber boots as they walk to school and explore the puddles in the park.

Fall Essentials: Paris Packing List

Neutral colors work well for mixing and matching outfits. You may notice this when watching what Parisian women are wearing in the fall. Bright colors aren’t as common in the colder months.

Merino wool or cashmere scarf for cooler days.

Wide-leg trousers are in with Parisian style. You will see many women wearing these. Try the Palazzo pants from Frame. For a black pants that are easy to travel in, I love these.

For warmer days, a trench coat will work well. You will want to keep this as a staple piece for many of your Paris outfits. Once cooler weather hits, a heavier jacket is recommended.

Light layers including t-shirts or long sleeve shirts are perfect for under sweaters or a blazer.

Cashmere and wool sweaters are ideal for keeping warm. When the rain clears, you can take off your sweater and drape it around your shoulders. Don’t be surprised for a day of mixed weather between sunshine and rain.

Wool Coats for Paris

A wool coat is a French wardrobe essential that will keep you warm starting in late November. There are wool coats at different price points, it may be worth investing in one that you will for multiple seasons. Mango has a great one I have been eyeing along with Cos. Quince and Sézane also offer solid ones depending on your price point.

Comfortable Walking Shoes

Comfortable walking shoes are a must in Paris. Anticipate long days walking the streets of Paris and getting lost or ducking into a Parisian café to escape a rain storm. Water-resistant footwear is a good idea to pack in the fall months. These Chelsea boots from Margaux are a new favorite to keep me dry and warm.

Accessories for Paris in the Fall: What to Wear in Paris When it Rains

The French don’t let the rain stop them from wearing a little black dress or skirt. You will often see Parisians wearing black tights and avoiding bare legs during the fall season. Pair your dress or skirt with a pair of ankle boots of black knee high riding boots.

As you explore Paris, try a crossbody bag or small handbag to keep your belongings secure and close to your body. You will want one that has a good closure. Inside your crossbody bag, pack a foldable umbrella to keep you dry. Paris is known for unpredictable rain and occasional hail storms.

Cold Weather Accessories

Gloves, a hat, and scarf are essential cold weather accessories.

Weekend Explorer in Paris

Weekends in Paris are more relaxed when it comes to what to wear. You will want a comfortable pair of shoes such as a good pair of sneakers. Leave your gym clothes and shoes for your workout. The French will still look elevated and pulled together with fall layers. Baseball caps are a trending popular accessory now.

For a Market Morning

You want to be comfortable but also feel pulled together. Try a chunky knit sweater, wide legged denim, waterproof Chelsea boots and a tote bag. You will want to keep the tote to pack all of your market finds. Visiting a market is ideal if you are staying in an apartment while in Paris. It may not work if you are staying in a hotel in the same way. I do love picking up a baguette at a local boulangerie and cheeses to enjoy back in my room.

Paris Fall Trends 2025: What Parisians Are Wearing This Season

One of my favorite posts to write after a trip to Paris is the trends report. This time around, the Paris Fall 2025 trends were some of the best I have seen! I don’t know if it was the perfect timing of la rentrée and everyone was wearing their best, or just luck. This post took a while to put together, as it involved sourcing items from the US and numerous photos. I hope you enjoy this post as much as I did curating it. Any favorite trends you are loving for the fall season?

Paris Fall Trends 2025

For coats, the biggest trend I saw at retailers was a burgundy belted wrap coat. Some were over $1000, and I also found this one from Cos that is more reasonably priced. Also, Mango makes a great one that I am now eyeing!

Burgundy is an overall very popular color right now.

Butter Yellow: Paris Fall Trends

Butter yellow was trending from sweaters to nail polish on Parisian women. I loved seeing it as an accessory tied back into fall colors like navy and brown.

While it is more typical to see black trending in Paris, chocolate brown was present at multiple retailers with accessories such as coats, sweaters, bags, and shoes.

Key French Fall Trends This Year: Cuffed Denim

A big trend in denim for fall in Paris was cuffed denim. I spotted a good number of Parisian women wearing this trend. There are numerous brands offering this style at various price points.

Also, dark denim is trending in a big way! I had a meeting with one of my favorite French brands, and we spoke about this trend. We were both wearing our dark denim for our coffee date.

Trench Coats for Fall 2025 Paris

Trench coats remain a trend in Paris, rain or shine. I wish I had brought mine this trip. The Clyde and Scott trench from Sézane is a classic style I see on so many Parisian women. Here are a few more styles from other brands as well.

Loafers: Paris Fall 2025 Trends

Loafers, socks, and no socks are trending in Paris for the fall. This was so much fun to see, and I love the personality added by the socks too—a great way to add your own little twist to a classic.

The weather was a bit too warm for many tights, but I know this trend is going to continue this fall. Tights with shorts, dresses, and riding boots are a key fall trend in Paris.

Riding boots were a trend I saw at the end of December in Paris and continued to see with tights, skirts, and dresses. I can’t wait to break out my own Anne boots later this year.

Leopard for Fall 2025

Notice the two women front and center, both wearing the leopard trend. One in a skirt, and the other in a jacket. I didn’t notice it until looking through photos from September in Paris.

Leopard isn’t my favorite trend, but I noticed it often in Paris, too much not to mention. From accessories to footwear, leopard is hot.

Fringe is in and I am loving it! On boots and bags, I can’t wait to play around with this trend!.

I love the way the French style outfits with additional layers of accessories from jewelry, to scarves, and handbags. It is really well done without being overdone. I loved this women’s bangle bracelets spotted at lunch on my last day and immediately ordered some.

The Most Popular Bag I Spotted in Paris This September

The bag I saw worn on Parisian women the most often was this one from Poléne. I was so close to buying my own and I decided to wait until my next trip.

Fall Styles 2025 with J.Crew

Chicago has a slight crisp chill in the air, hinting that fall weather is slowly approaching. I love jeans and sweater weather. This time of year is my favorite with new clothes and a fresh beginning. Below are my favorite J.Crew fall styles to update your wardrobe. I partnered with J.Crew to share how I would style some of my favorite pieces.

Fall Styles 2025 with J.Crew

I have been keeping an eye on fall trends for a few weeks now, and there are so many fun styles to incorporate. Loafers, scarves, and pops of red are styles I have been eyeing. J.Crew hits it out of the park again with their latest arrivals for the upcoming season. I styled a few pieces to show you.

A pop of red has become my signature color over the years, and I am so happy to see it front and center this season: cherry red nails, burgundy, and bordeaux. A reader turned me onto this cashmere sweater from J.Crew available in a variety of colors. It fits great in a size small, and you can always size up one for a more oversized fit.

I styled it with a black blazer and loafers. This black bag also caught my eye and would look great as an accessory along with a black belt—a simple way to jazz up a simple cashmere sweater. It would also pair well with a midi skirt and boots. Endless possibilities and a fall staple piece for your wardrobe.

Fall Accessories: Baseball Caps

Baseball caps are a fun accessory I love to grab when I walk out the door for long walks and errands. This blue outfit made me feel like I could cheer on the Cubs through the end of the season.

I am a sucker for a good button-down, and this one is solid.

The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is here! Early access starts now, July 8 and continues with tiered access for priority shoppers. The sale opens to the public on July 12. This once a year sale offers great deals on everything from beauty, clothing, and shoes. I will share more of my favorites througout the week but I felt like beauty needed it’s own post. Thanks to a very delayed flight home from France, I had a little extra time at the airport to pull this together. No pressure if you aren’t planning to shop this sale or any of the big July sales. Here are my Nordstrom Anniversary Beauty Favorites.

Roz shampoo and conditioner. I first discovered this brand at Credo about a year ago and the woman who cuts my hair also recommended the brand around the same time. It smells amazing and I am already on my second bottle, which are metal and not plastic. Not included in the sale is their leave in conditioner which, I also wanted to mention because it is perfect if you are air drying your hair instead of heat styling it this summer.
Clarins Double Serum this firming and soothing serum is a best seller from Clarins. I have purchased this many times over the years in the US and French pharmacies. Most recently, I stayed at a Clarins spa in Mougins and they used this serum on me. I brought some home from the trip. A favorite product of yours and mine not included in the sale but worth checking out is their Cryo-Flash cooling mask.
Leave it to Nordstrom to include some high end beauty products in the sale. I have not used Le Mer creams for an extended period of time but I have heard great things from friends. This Eye Concentrate Duo is a $550 value for $375.
Elemis Cleansing Balm. You have heard me rave about this product for almost a year now. This particular size will last you for a good while. I use it morning and night on my dry skin. On sale for $89
Diptyque Candle Set. This is bound to sell out as it does every year. Diptyque trio set of three candles makes a great gift. I also love breaking up the three and gifting one candle at a time along with a bottle of wine, hand written note, or a baked good. The set includes Baies, Tuberose, and Fig all best selling scents from Diptyque you can’t go wrong.
Higher Dose Infared Home Sauna on sale for $559. (originally $699) One of our friends raved about this sauna so much my husband bought it for us to share.
Augustinus Bader cream on sale for $412 from $550. This is something that has been on my list to try for my dryness and anti-aging. It has had rave reviews over the years.
Salt & Stone Duo Wash. $49 for 2 (a $72 value) You have heard me rave about Salt & Stone for a while now. Their scents are so good and right now we have two in our shower. One for me, one for my husband. The duo is perfect if you have a guest bath too. Your guests will love these soaps too!
Westman Atelier Petite Blush Duo $35 includes Petal and Chouchette. I love Westman Atelier and keep their blush in my makeup rotation. These are a great product to try if you are just testing out the brand.

Dyson Hair Dryer $399 vs $499 I bit the bullet a few years ago and so happy I did. The Dyson hair dryer was a great investment. While I don’t dry my hair all the time, I do dry my bangs daily and will blow dry my hair in the winter.

*Not a beauty item, but I am eyeing this Dyson for our kitchen. We need an upgrade, and with the sale, it might be the perfect time to make a purchase. I would love to know if anyone has this model or a similar one.

Our South of France trip is just around the corner. I am very excited to explore this part of France with my husband and experience new towns and hotels. You can see our itinerary here. Below is what I am packing for the South of France.

We prefer to pack in just a carry-on for ease of travel between multiple destinations and to avoid worrying about lost luggage. I like to bring this Longchamp bag to fill with anything that we might purchase during our trip, and I can check it on the way home.

Sunscreen and Makeup Will be Light Due to the Heat

I have been loving Iris and Romeo for their lip gloss, cheek stain, and Weekend Skin. It is the perfect summer glow with SPF.

What I am Packing in My Bag for the South of France

While I want this to be a vacation, I am looking forward to shooting the beaches and the South of France. Photography brings me joy, and I am excited to look at this part of France with a fresh set of eyes. I have downloaded a few books for my Kindle, and my Airpods are charged.

Chicago is just starting to warm up, which finally means I can pull out the dresses and sandals I have been waiting to wear. J.Crew is always a favorite retailer of mine, and their summer collections consistently hit the mark with current trends and standout styles.

Summer Styles with J.Crew

One of the big trends this summer is the tube dress—a flashback from my high school days. Accessories are key when styling this classic look. I added a belt in a neutral color and gold sandals to accent the gold buckle. A scarf is always a key styling piece and can be added as a pop of color on a basket bag, as I did, or tied in my hair in a ponytail for later in the day.

The dress can be easily worn to a Sunday brunch, dinner at a friend’s, or a date night. I paired the dress with sandals, but you could also pair it with espadrilles.

I ordered a size medium in the dress, but a small would have also worked. The dress also comes in black and looks incredible in both colors.

Halter Summer Dress

Another favorite dress in the latest J.Crew collection is this halter dress, available in multiple colors. I chose my signature pop of red. This one is more of a brick red than a bright poppy. It works well with sandals, sneakers, or espadrilles.

I am wearing a size medium, a small also fits. This particular style tends to run a bit large.

Pack this for your summer vacation and pair it with your favorite sunglasses. Perfect for farmer’s market runs and lazy summer afternoons.

For the Midi Skirt Lover

I was surprised how much I loved this lace-trimmed pintucked skirt. It wasn’t intentional, but I ended up pairing this tank that was a little out of my comfort zone, and it ended up working so well.

Throw on the skirt over your favorite swimsuit for lunch poolside. I also styled this skirt with a blazer. If you have a summer meeting or drinks out and don’t want to wear a dress.

To continue with the monochromatic look, I added these white sandals that also come in multiple colors. Run tts wearing my usual 8.5.

A Classic Linen Pant

The classic linen pants from J.Crew are back this season and, in my personal opinion, fit better than ever. I am wearing a small in the butter color. Perfect for lounging at home with your favorite pup or throwing on over a swimsuit with a linen button-down shirt cuffed at the sleeves.

Summer in France is a popular time to visit, with extra travel time available as kids are out of school and enjoy extended vacations. The beginning of the summer months can be cooler, and you can expect warmer days come June, leading into July. It is a good idea to pack layers when planning for summer in Paris, as the weather can be unpredictable. It’s a great time to be in Paris, where numerous outdoor activities and events are available. The city is truly buzzing at the start of warm weather.

One of the most popular and trending looks in French fashion right now is a more casual approach. A baseball hat, sneakers, and a crossbody bag. I have this one from Rivedroite, a famous French brand that is affordable. Mine is bright red.

You can use my Paris packing list and suggestions to help you pack for Paris in the summer. Mix and match the Parisian style with your own to create a unique look. Paris Weather in The Summer

Check the weather forecast before you travel and adjust your wardrobe accordingly. There are many times when I don’t want to believe the temperatures that appear when I search the weather, but those are typically not too far off. Expect a wide variety of temperatures when traveling in the summer. Heat waves aren’t out of the norm these days, and not every apartment or restaurant has air conditioning. Verify with your accommodations when booking to ensure there is air conditioning or fans to keep you cool. I spent a few days in Paris during a heat wave, which was uncomfortable. Luckily, my hotel room had air conditioning, and I was able to get some relief while I slept.

The forecast for rain in Paris can change daily. I anticipate at least one day of rain during your trip, so it’s a good idea to pack a trench coat, rain jacket, and umbrella for those rainy days. You may be lucky and not have a rainy day, but it’s best to plan.

My Carry On Bag and Travel Essentials

I always pack in a carry-on for Paris and prefer to use my Away suitcase. Here are all the details for what I use inside, and the most asked-about item is always the bag I carry on top. I use The Everyday Bag from Away, which fits under my seat or above in the overhead compartment and is used as my personal item. I bring my laptop, tech pack, chargers, and camera in this bag. If you don’t need to pack all your tech equipment like me, you can easily fit in an extra change of clothes and your Kindle in this bag when you land in Paris.

Daylight Hours in Paris

If you come from the US, you may not expect such an early sunrise and late sunset. In June, the sunrise is around 5:45 a.m., and the sunset is at 9:45, roughly. You will have 16 hours of sunlight in Paris. This is great for experiencing the city and the energy that fills the streets. Prepare for hot and sunny days. Do not forget a sun hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle while exploring the City of Light.

Comfortable Shoes to Wear in Paris in the Summer

Comfortable walking shoes are a must for comfortable walking in Paris. You will want to pack a pair of sneakers for long days of exploring and walking around the city. These Vejas are what many French women are wearing right now.

Another pair of favorite sneakers is from Madewell. You need to break them before a long trip, but once you have, they will mold to your feet, and you will love them. They are also under $100.

You should plan on walking a lot in Paris, and having more than one pair of shoes to rotate is beneficial for keeping your feet comfortable. It is not uncommon to walk 10 miles a day without even trying. The best way to see Paris is on foot. The metro or bus is a great option to get across town quickly and easily if you don’t want to walk.

If you pack a pair of heels, espadrilles are a recommended alternative. Paris is filled with cobblestone streets. I typically avoid stiletto heels unless I jump into a taxi straight to dinner.

Summer Bags for Paris

I plan to be out for a bit while exploring Paris. You can always pop back to your Paris apartment or hotel room to rest or cool off in the middle of the day. I like to bring a bag with me. Typically, I carry a zippered tote with my camera inside during the day. In the evening, a cross-body tote with a clasp is my favorite, as it provides enough room for my phone and wallet.

Basket bags are big in Paris. While they don’t have a zip at the top, you must be mindful of your belongings, especially on the metro and in high-traffic areas. Use these for picnics, lighter days, and the market. You can always use a crossbody bag and a basket bag for other essentials. Parisians often carry two bags, usually a canvas tote, to work or the market on weekends.

Pack a Neutral Capsule Wardrobe

Timeless classics are always a good idea when packing for Paris. The trending Parisian styles include midi skirts, crossbody bags, Birkenstock-style shoes, and wide-leg pants. I hate to say it, but skinny jeans are out in France. You can still wear them as I did, but don’t be surprised if you see high-waisted wide-leg pants. A neutral capsule wardrobe consists of a few items, such as classic t-shirts, a little black dress, a good pair of denim, ballet flats, and sneakers. Mix and match these items to make multiple Paris outfits and even pack them in a carry-on.

While shorts are acceptable in Paris, make sure they aren’t shorts. Sézane has some super cute ones that align with Parisian fashion trends.

Pack a sweater for cooler days and nights to throw over a dress or t-shirt. A light jacket, such as a denim jacket, pairs easily with a dress. If you plan to spend time in May or June, consider packing a leather jacket.

Accessories to Pack for Paris in the Summer

A scarf is a perfect Parisian accessory. Even in the summer, you will see French women wearing light scarves. You can always tie one on a handbag for a pop of color.

How to Not Stand Out as A Tourist in Paris

Leave the gym wear at home, including your favorite Lululemon pants. Save them for the flight home. Loud brands, bright colors, and gym shoes will be a sure sign you are a tourist. Emulate the effortless style of the Parisians by dressing in neutral colors. Fanny packs, money belts around your neck, and ballcaps with sports teams are dead giveaways.

What to Do in Advance of Your Paris Trip

Travel insurance is always recommended when going abroad. I use Faye Insurance to ensure I am covered for delays, lost luggage, and my camera and computer. They have two different levels at different prices to choose from. Simplify your wallet when traveling and limit the number of credit cards you carry. I keep one with me and a backup one in the hotel, safe for emergencies. Cash isn’t necessary in Paris, but it is helpful for tipping and small purchases. I keep a change purse for euro coins and small dollar bills.

Travel Accessories for Paris

If you bring one, you will want to have a travel adapter in your bag to charge your phone, computer, and camera. I purchased this from Apple, which slides on and off my charger easily. A simple adapter is also inexpensive and great for your travel bag.

What Parisians Are Wearing Now: Spring 2025

One of my favorite posts to write after a trip to Paris is about all the French style and fashion trends I spotted. What Parisians are wearing now, spring 2025. As I mentioned before, this trip was a mixed bag of weather. We started with beautiful summer weather that transitioned into cooler weather. I typically park myself at a favorite café; this time, I was drawn to Café Bonaparte. It was about a 10-minute walk from my hotel, and I found myself here multiple times daily. The city’s energy in May was electric, and the days were long, with a sunset around 9:30 pm, making the days full. I have tried to find sources for these trends at retailers so you can add these styles to your wardrobe.

I spotted the woven trend in the windows of Parisian shops for handbags and flats.

Fanny Packs

Rive Droite is one of the most popular brands for the French banana bag. There is a free-standing store by Palais Royal, or you can find them offered at department stores like Galeries Lafayette or BHV. I own this style in red and always wear it for walks with Henri.

Dresses with Belts

I was asked on Instagram for her dress style, but I just snapped this in passing. The bag is Polène, and she is wearing espadrilles and stacked bracelets—so well styled!

This woman was my favorite and won best dressed in Paris.

I spotted a key trend in Paris: printed dresses, which included florals, polka dots, and long dresses with belts.

Oversized Blazers

For an effortless look, wear belts with jeans, a classic T-shirt and sneakers, or a pair of flats with an oversized blazer.

I found multiple Parisian women wearing blazers over their shoulders as a key part of their Paris outfits.
